Resume
NEWHOUSE
A former boss brought me into Newhouse to help sharpen its marketing and drive strategic business development. The agency already had an impressive entertainment roster they wanted to expand.
My role eventually formalized into General Manager, with marketing and business development still firmly at the center of the plot.
INCUBETA
Once the agency rebrand was implemented, I joined Incubeta as the director of creative strategy where I continued to develop and refine the creative approach to proposals and pitches while supporting and collaborating with Google, YouTube and TikTok as partners. I also maintained an active role in writing and publishing on industry-related topics and led the day-to-day strategy for client engagements.
JOYSTICK
I joined Joystick as their marketing strategy consultant to lead their repositioning efforts. The engagement consisted of multiple tracks, from the initial positioning work, to helping articulate it across all their touch points, to helping streamline their operations and recommend new tools. The repositioning played a role in their acquisition by Incubeta, where I continued to collaborate with their global marketing team to evolve its messaging to include its expanded specialist teams under one brand. I also played a key role in implementing this strategy in the US.
CONSULTANT
I took on a variety of engagements, ranging from a comprehensive 360 branded content campaign for Time Inc Digital to developing an experiential multi-touch screen installation for IBM at the US Open working with HUSH Studios. As time went on, my consulting engagements increasingly centered around helping agencies adapt to the evolving landscape and optimize their operations. I also contributed to thought leadership deliverables that explored innovation areas and how brands could effectively utilize them.
NIGHT AGENCY
Entrepreneurial at heart, Night Agency was known for its successful digital ventures, including Keds Studio, a platform that allowed users to design their own sneakers and sell them on Zazzle. I joined Night Agency as their Managing Director, helping spearhead future growth, while laying the operational groundwork to sustain it. Once those systems were in place, the role became redundant and I went on to start my consulting career.
BARBARIAN GROUP
Known for its viral Subservient Chicken site, The Barbarian Group was awarded top Creative Agency during my time there. Starting to become known as a thought leader in the space, I joined them as a client service lead, where I helped lead business development efforts and manage a number of site builds and social experiences for startups and publishers, including The Economist, Vice Media, Flavorpill and Hearst. I also partnered with Esquire on the pre-sell of its Augmented Reality Edition, collaborating with advertisers on the possibilities of an AR-enabled ad.
DEEP FOCUS
One of Deep Focus’s first five employees working out of its DUMBO offices, I contributed to its YOY growth through successful collaborations with entertainment clients such as MGM, 20th Century Fox, and Sony Pictures – and ultimately transition to a social media agency working with brand clients such as Dewar’s Scotch, Nike and beyond. We pushed the boundaries of what social was at the time, from the early days of web 2.0 and user-generated content (UGC) to being one of the first to work with Facebook. Wearing multiple hats, I led business development, managed my accounts and projects, while building the creative services and production team.
